Why is success and failure equally important

Success is something everyone endeavors for. Everyone wants to reach heights and never look back. But has anyone ever wished for failure? Has anyone ever imagined failing a test or anything important to them and rejoiced? Failure is something everyone considers a bad episode. No one ever wished to fail. Our society has always seen failure in a negative light.

Mostly it is seen that people who fail, think of themselves as less than others and often tend to slide into self-hatred or pity. Failure doesn't always mean that someone hasn't worked hard or prepared enough but sometimes it means that you need to change your outlook and work differently. Failure is something everyone should go through in their life once. Failure is the greatest teacher if you take your defeat positively and learn from it.

Let’s look at some of the positive aspects of failure.

Failure gives you a sense of direction:

Failure makes you look back and realize your mistakes. You can learn from them and make better choices. Sometimes, you don't realize where you went wrong, and when you fail you understand what has not to be done to be successful. Failure gives you a better sense of direction and understanding.

Failure gives you power:

Failure can be your greatest source of strength. When you fail, either you can keep distressing over your failure or you can get up and work even harder to achieve success. Failure helps you overcome your fear. The greatest of influential people have failed multiple times before they made their way to make history.

Failure teaches you to value:

Failure teaches you the value of success as success can easily get on anyone's head. Failure keeps people grounded. They learn the true meaning and value of success and all the right and wrongs related to success.

Failure is an experience:

It's important to fail in order to learn and gain experience. Failure changes how you look at the world. Failure makes you understand the true meaning of life and how to handle challenges that might come in the future. Failure changes you into better human beings.

Failure is an opportunity:

It's an opportunity to understand and correct your mistakes. Failures help you understand what has to be done and what not to attain success. Rather than focusing on failure, one can learn to be resilient and more focused. Failure allows correcting the past mistakes which lead to failure and makes one a compassionate and confident person.

Failure helps get rid of fear:

The fear of failing keeps a person away from achieving what that person really wants. Due to this, people often don't get out of their comfort zones and experience newer things that might give them happiness and confidence. Once the person gets past this fear, he can achieve anything he wants from life.

Accepting your failures and understanding their positive side is more important than failing. You need to embrace your failure and learn from them. Failures really help to improve yourself. Don't keep yourself away from failing. Embrace every part of your journey and grow with it.

At Poddar College, during the personality development programs, the students are trained to handle failures gracefully and use them to improve. They are also trained to manage time and stress.
