International Seminar on Higher Education in the US Poddar Group of Institutions believes in providing a wide perspective to our students with regards to learning. Students should be aware of local aspects and at the same time should have international exposure to global best practices in their respective fields.
With this objective, the Group organizes seminars, talks, and visits by international organizations and groups for interaction with students and faculty members. A seminar titled ‘Higher Education in the US’ was organized on 9 Sep 2009. The resource persons were representatives from the US embassy Mrs. Mandeep Kaur, Mr. Sandeep Paul, Ms. Shruti Challa, and Ms. Lisa Swenarski.
Ms. Lisa Swenarski talked about the opportunities for higher education in the US in diverse disciplines. Mr. Paul also mentioned the financial assistance and scholarships which students can avail. They had a brief interaction with students and members of the institution.
Students were curious and enthusiastic about the options available for higher education. The participants discussed job opportunities and entrepreneurship opportunities for students in the US. Many students showed the willingness to further engage in these programs and explore studying and working in the US in fields ranging from IT, Management, Biotechnology, and other advanced areas.
