To commemorate World Environment Day on 5 June, an Environmental Awareness and Plantation Drive was organized by NSS unit of Poddar International College.
The objective of the programme was to create awareness about environmental conservation, sustainable living, and the importance of increasing green cover.
The activity began with Environmental awareness session, College Principal Prof. Praveen Goswami, emphasized the need to protect natural resources and adopt eco-friendly practices for every citizen.
Faculty members and students actively participated in the awareness campaign and discussed major environmental issues such as pollution, climate change, deforestation, and waste management.
At the end of Awareness session, NSS program officer Dr. Shilpika Tiwari and Dr. Vinod Kumar Jain addressed the students about the environmental conservation and the importance of plantation for fresh and clean environment.
As part of the plantation drive, various saplings including neem, peepal, banyan, and flowering plants were planted within the campus premises.
Vice chairperson of Poddar group of Institute Mrs. Roopal Poddar Mam encouraged the students to take responsibility for nurturing the planted saplings.
The event successfully inspired students and staff to contribute towards a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment. The programme concluded with a pledge to protect nature and work collectively for environmental sustainability.
