National Climate Mission - Green Economy and a Sustainable Future

Poddar International College, Jaipur hosted a special event under the National Climate Mission as part of the AICTE-ATAL Faculty Development Program. The primary theme of the event was "Green Economy and a Sustainable Future". The chief guest for the program was Professor Chetan Singh Solanki from IIT Bombay, also known as the “Solar Man of India”.


The event began with a warm welcome to the esteemed guests and students. In his address, Professor Solanki emphasized that energy freedom is true freedom. He discussed the urgent need for collective efforts from society, especially the youth, to address climate change and the energy crisis. Sharing his experiences from the Energy Swaraj Mission, he highlighted that this national initiative aims to transition India to 100% solar energy by 2030.


During the event, Dr. Anand Poddar, the Honorable President of Poddar International College, mentioned that the college has been actively working towards environmental conservation for many years, and it will continue its efforts in this direction. He assured that the college would fully support Professor Solanki's Energy Swaraj Mission and act as a coordinator whenever needed. Chairman Sir expressed gratitude to the dignitaries of the Rotary Club for joining this mission and appreciated their support.


Meanwhile, Mrs. Roopal Poddar, the Vice-chair person of the college, said that the institution would seriously adopt the guidance given by Professor Solanki and support his mission moving forward
During the event, Professor Solanki was honored with a green symbol (a plant) as a token of appreciation. The program was attended by Dr. Anand Poddar, Mrs. Roopal Poddar, Dr. Praveen Goswami (Principal), Dr. Meenu Mangal(Vice-Principal) and  Dr. Reema Singh (Coordinator), along with rotary dignitaries, all department heads, faculty members, and a large number of students.


At the end of the event, the students and faculty members took a collective pledge for solar energy, energy conservation, and environmental protection. The program concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuous efforts in the direction of environmental conservation and sustainable development, with everyone contributing towards a green and safe future.
