Industrial visit to Jaipur Rugs in Departmental Orientation Programme Day 1

The students of BBA & B.Com Semester I, accompanied by Training and Placement Officer Mr. Omkar Ghosh and Dr. Yog, embarked on an enlightening industrial visit to Jaipur Rugs, Manpura Macheri The visit offered students a unique opportunity to understand the inspiring entrepreneurial journey of  Founder Mr. N.K. Chaudhary while gaining practical exposure to sustainable and socially responsible business practices.

Highlights of the Visit:

The visit began with an exploration of Manpura Macheri village, where Mr. Jakir introduced the students to the remarkable journey of Jaipur Rugs, its vision, and its unique artisan-centric business model.

Students then had the privilege of interacting with artisan Mrs. Shanti Devi, who shared her inspiring personal journey and explained how Jaipur Rugs transformed her life by providing sustainable livelihood opportunities and empowering her to achieve financial independence.

Following this, Mr. Jakir guided the students through the village to meet local artisans and witness the live process of handmade rug weaving. Students observed every stage of rug making—from yarn preparation and knotting techniques to weaving and finishing. They also enjoyed a hands-on experience, trying the weaving process themselves and gaining a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship, precision, and dedication involved in creating world-class handmade rugs.

After the village visit, the students proceeded to the Jaipur Rugs Showroom, where Ms. Sakshi Sharma delivered an engaging presentation on the inspiring entrepreneurial journey of Founder Mr. N.K. Chaudhary. She highlighted how his vision, perseverance, and innovative approach transformed a small initiative into a globally recognised brand. The session also provided valuable insights into Jaipur Rugs' innovative socio-economic business model, sustainability initiatives, global presence, and its unwavering commitment to empowering rural artisans across India. 🌍📈

The industrial visit proved to be an enriching and memorable learning experience, offering students valuable real-world insights into entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, rural empowerment, craftsmanship, and sustainable business practices.
