The Department of Commerce and Management, in association with the Literary and Management Club, organised a four-day workshop on “Business Communication and Professional Etiquette” for BBA Semester I students from 26th to 29th October 2026. The workshop aimed to equip students with essential professional skills, effective communication techniques, workplace etiquette, and the right mindset for their future careers.
The workshop featured four insightful sessions, each focusing on an important aspect of professional development.
Day 1: LinkedIn and Building a Professional Online Presence
The opening session was conducted by Dr. Shiva Sharma, Assistant Professor, Poddar Business School, who introduced students to LinkedIn and its importance in professional networking and career development. Students received practical guidance on creating and updating their LinkedIn profiles, including profile pictures, banners, About sections, and educational details. The interactive session helped students understand how to establish a professional online presence even during their college years.
Day 2: Professionalism and Management Etiquettes
The second session was conducted by Dr. Ashish Sharma, Trainer, Consultant and Entrepreneur. The session focused on professional behaviour, workplace etiquette, discipline, and the importance of maintaining a positive attitude. Through real-life examples and personal experiences, he helped students understand how everyday habits and professional conduct contribute to personal growth and career success.
Day 3: Corporate Communication
The third session was conducted by Mr. Hemant Bhati, Co-Founder of Clapping Joker Films and Creative Director at Gunin Media. The session highlighted the importance of effective communication in the corporate environment. Through practical examples, storytelling, and interactive discussions, students learned about clear expression, professional interactions, and building strong workplace relationships.
Day 4: Mindfulness and Business Etiquette
The concluding session was conducted by Dr. Sunil Kakkar, Dean Academics, Poddar Business School and Poddar International College. He highlighted the importance of mindfulness, ethical values, emotional balance, and respectful behaviour in professional life. Through interactive discussions, real-life examples, and a mindfulness exercise, students explored self-awareness, discipline, and responsible decision-making.
