Environmental and animal welfare activity - Parinda for Birds

The NSS Unit of Poddar International College organized a meaningful environmental and animal welfare activity, “Parinda for Birds”. The objective of helping birds during the scorching summer season. Under this initiative, earthen water pots (Parinda) were installed at various locations on the campus and nearby trees to provide clean drinking water to birds. Feeding pots containing grains were also placed on trees to ensure food availability for them.

The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Anand Poddar , Chairman, Poddar Group of Institutions. The activity was initiated by Mr. Yashas Poddar , Assistant Director, Poddar Group of Institutions, who encouraged students to develop compassion towards all living beings and contribute to environmental conservation.

NSS Programme Officers, NSS volunteers, and students actively participated in the activity with great enthusiasm. The initiative aimed to spread awareness about the difficulties faced by birds during extreme summer temperatures and the importance of providing them with water and food.

Through this activity, students learned the values of kindness, responsibility, and coexistence with nature. AT the end of activity Principal Prof Praveen Goswami  conveyed a strong message that even small efforts can make a significant difference in protecting and preserving biodiversity. By installing Parindas, the NSS Unit took a meaningful step towards creating a more caring and environmentally conscious society.
