The Department of Arts at Poddar International College organized an Elocution Competition on the topic "Youth as the Pillars of Democracy and Nation Building" (युवा लोकतंत्र और राष्ट्र निर्माण के स्तंभ हैं) under the guidance of Dr. Shilpika Tiwari , Assistant Professor, Political Science . She commenced the activity with the inspiring quote of Swami Vivekanand, "उठो, जागो और तब तक मत रुको जब तक लक्ष्य प्राप्त न हो जाए।" The activity invited students to express their thoughts through speeches. Students were encouraged to present their views within a 3-minute time frame, allowing them to showcase not only their understanding of the topic but also their creativity and individual talents.
Nearly 25 students enthusiastically participated in the competition, making the event lively and engaging. Their active participation made the event lively and meaningful, reflecting their interest in the theme and their willingness to express their views.
Dr. Shilpika Tiwari also motivated the students to participate wholeheartedly and view the activity as an opportunity to explore their potential, enhance their communication skills, and develop confidence in expressing their ideas. At the conclusion of the activity, the winners were felicitated by the College Principal, Prof. Praveen Goswami , presented Certificates to appreciate them and recognize their outstanding performances.
The activity generated enthusiasm among the students and served as an excellent platform to promote creativity, critical thinking, and awareness of democratic values and nation-building. It encouraged students to express themselves confidently while fostering a sense of responsibility towards society and the nation.
