Educational visit to the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF)

The students participated in an enriching educational visit to the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF), one of the world’s largest and most prestigious literary festivals, accompanied by faculty members. The visit was organized with the objective of exposing students to diverse ideas, contemporary thought leaders, literature, philosophy, and motivational discourses beyond the conventional classroom environment. The festival provided a vibrant platform for intellectual engagement, cultural exchange, and experiential learning.

During the visit, students attended several insightful sessions delivered by eminent speakers. One of the most inspiring sessions was by Ms. Sudha Murthy, renowned author, philanthropist, and social worker. Her talk emphasized core values such as simplicity, compassion, integrity, and social responsibility. Through relatable real-life anecdotes, she encouraged students to remain grounded, empathetic, and committed to contributing positively to society. During the session, she also released her book “The Magic of Lost Earrings”, which beautifully weaves together history, family bonds, and hidden treasures.

Another impactful session was conducted by Mr. Gaur Gopal Das, a celebrated motivational speaker and life coach. His session focused on self-awareness, emotional intelligence, nurturing relationships, leading a purpose-driven life, and managing stress in the modern world. Students found his discourse highly engaging and relatable, as he seamlessly connected ancient wisdom with contemporary life challenges. His session inspired students to cultivate positivity, resilience, and inner balance. He also released his book “You Can Have It All: Unlock the Secrets to a Great Life” during the event.

In addition to these sessions, students attended a thought-provoking session titled “Sita’s Veil” by Anamika, a distinguished Hindi writer and Sahitya Akademi Awardee. The session offered deep insights into feminist perspectives, mythology, and literary interpretation, encouraging students to critically reflect on cultural narratives and gender discourse.

Students also participated in sessions by several national and international authors, thinkers, and intellectuals, covering a wide range of themes such as literature, leadership, ethics, mental well-being, culture, and global issues. The interactive atmosphere of JLF allowed students to observe intellectual debates, ask questions, and engage with ideas from multiple perspectives.

Beyond the sessions, students explored the vibrant book stalls, interacted with local artisans and vendors, and gained exposure to traditional crafts, publishing trends, and cultural entrepreneurship. This interaction helped students appreciate local art forms, creativity, and the cultural economy associated with literary festivals.

Overall, the JLF visit proved to be a highly enriching and transformative experience. It broadened students’ intellectual horizons, enhanced their cultural awareness, encouraged critical thinking, and reinforced the importance of lifelong learning, literature, and ethical values in personal and professional life.
