A classroom activity titled “Be an Entrepreneur: Start Your Journey” was conducted to help BBA Semester-3 students understand entrepreneurship through practical experience, under guidance of faculty Mr. Abhishek Agarwal Sir.
The class was divided into five groups, and each group was asked to imagine themselves as entrepreneurs planning to launch a startup. Students were encouraged to identify a unique product or business opportunity that was not readily available in the market and develop it as an entrepreneurial idea.
During the activity, students took on the role of entrepreneurs and applied the qualities discussed in class, such as being an innovator, opportunity seeker, risk-taker, problem-solver, and decision-maker. Each group discussed how their product could create value for customers and how they would manage different business functions, including finance, marketing, human resources, production, and operations.
Students also discussed strategies for launching their products in the market, including target customers, pricing strategy, investment requirements, marketing approaches, and potential risks. This helped them understand that entrepreneurship involves not only developing an innovative idea but also planning and managing the complete business process.
Innovative Products Designed by Students
Some of the unique product ideas developed by the students included :
• Smart Safety Keychain : A keychain incorporating a torch, SOS safety feature, tracker, QR code, and emergency contact numbers.
• Multi-Use Personal Care Lotion: A single product designed to serve multiple purposes, such as body wash, moisturizer, shampoo, and cream.
• Smart Customizable T-Shirt: A concept that allows users to change the design or print of a T-shirt through mobile technology, reducing the need to purchase multiple T-shirts according to changing fashion trends.
• Combo Snack Pouch : A convenient pouch combining a cold drink and chips as a single snack-and-beverage offering.
Learning Outcomes
Through this activity, students experienced entrepreneurship from an entrepreneur’s perspective. They understood how entrepreneurs identify market opportunities, innovate to solve problems, and create value through their ideas. They also learned that every business idea involves certain risks and that successful entrepreneurs need to identify, assess, and manage these risks. Overall, the activity transformed the theoretical concepts of entrepreneurship into a practical and engaging learning experience.
