The Department of Arts, in association with the Alumni Cell of Poddar International College , organized an Alumni Interaction Session. The session featured the distinguished alumni Rinki Sukhani (Batch of 2024) , who brought laurels to the nation by winning the Bronze Medal at the Muaythai World Championships held in Malaysia in 2026 .
The session began with a warm welcome for the guest alumni, Rinki Sukhani, by the College Vice Principal, Prof. Meenu Mangal , who presented her with a sapling as a symbol of growth, appreciation, and best wishes for her future endeavors.
The programme commenced with a welcome Introduction by departmental coordinate Dr. Shilpika Tiwari , who highlighted the achievements of Ms. Rinki Sukhani and her courageous act of ensuring the safety of a girl who was being harassed by a man while she was the student of BA 2nd year in college. It's reflecting her strong sense of responsibility and leadership.
She was also awarded by the state mahila aayog for this courageous task.
The session provided students with an opportunity to interact with Ms. Rinki Sukhani and learn from her inspiring journey as an international athlete. She shared her experiences of balancing academics with sports, the discipline and dedication required to excel in athletics, and the importance of consistency, hard work, and self-belief in achieving success. She also guided students on how to develop a positive mindset, maintain physical fitness, and overcome challenges in their personal and professional lives.
During the interaction, Ms. Rinki also shared an inspiring real-life incident from her college days, where she courageously intervened to help a girl who was being harassed. She took the initiative to report the matter to the police, highlighting the importance of standing up against injustice and supporting those in need. Through this experience, she encouraged students to be responsible, courageous, and socially aware individuals who never remain silent in the face of wrongdoing.
As a token of appreciation for her remarkable achievements and inspiring contribution, the College Principal, Prof. Praveen Goswami, presented a memento to Ms. Rinki Sukhani. He congratulated her on bringing pride to the institution through her international success and appreciated her for motivating the students with her inspiring journey and valuable life experiences.
The session was highly interactive, with students enthusiastically asking questions about sports, career opportunities, fitness, and personal development.
