Poddar Sansthan, Jaipur organized an awareness and engagement program on the National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS) to highlight the importance of apprenticeships in strengthening industry–academia collaboration and enhancing youth employability. The program began with a welcome address by Dr. Reema Singh who welcomed all dignitaries, industry representatives, academicians, and participants.
During the inaugural ceremony, a sapling was presented by the Chairman, Dr. Anand Poddar, symbolizing sustainable growth and collaboration. In his address, he encouraged the organizing team to continue such initiatives that connect education with industry needs and promote skill-based learning. The Vice Chairperson, Mrs. Roopal Poddar, also appreciated the initiative and emphasized the importance of apprenticeship programs in preparing students for real-world professional challenges.
The inaugural session featured remarks by representatives from the Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council and the National Skill Development Corporation, along with a keynote address by a representative from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship / Regional Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, highlighting the role of apprenticeships in national skill development.
A panel discussion on “Strengthening Quality Apprenticeship Ecosystem” was effectively moderated by Mrs. Anuradha Ghosh, Training and Placement Officer at Poddar International College. Panelists included Mr. Raj Kumar from GENUS Engineering Company, Mr. Rajeev Kumar from the National Skill Development Corporation, Ms. Preeti Kashyap from the Handicrafts and Carpet Sector Skill Council, Mr. Arvind Kumar from Poddar Trust, and Mr. Neeraj Gupta, Zonal Head at HDFC Bank. The discussion focused on bridging the industry skill gap and promoting quality apprenticeships.
The event also featured success stories from industry representatives and apprentices who shared their experiences and career growth through NAPS. A live demonstration on NAPS registration was conducted by Mr. Vishal Tailor, providing guidance on enrollment and incentives for employers and candidates.
